EXIT WEST

This book is an absolute masterpiece. My cohort read it in our creative writing MFA program, and I think about parts from it often, especially living in the world as we are living in it right now—escaping into this fictional world was at once comforting, terrifying, familiar, and unfamiliar. The language breaks and erases as many borders as the speculative nature of the magic does, it’s really treat to read, surprising and intoxicating at every turn. It was an honor to suspend my disbelief for this premise and these characters—and I felt myself transported, across time and great distances, in the way that only magical doors (and books) can move us.
